What we teach

Four ways in.

  • Voice

A 12-week course in breathing, pitch control, articulation, and performance etiquette, with sessions up to 60 minutes and personal feedback each time.

  • Piano

Beginner and intermediate lessons in scales, chords, and music theory. Weekly sessions are recommended. A keyboard or piano with at least 61 keys is all a student needs.

  • Guitar

Lessons for beginners who have a guitar to practice on. Ask about it on the application and the team will match a teacher.

  • Group classes, coming soon

Class-style voice and instrumental lessons built around ensemble work, in partnership with hospitals, community centers, and after-school programs.

Questions families ask

The short answers.

Who is eligible?
Students aged 4 to 18 who want to take music lessons. Wanting it is step one. After the application, an interview with the parent or guardian and the student looks at the financial need.
When can my student start?
Applications are read as they come in. A team member schedules a virtual or phone interview, and within a few weeks the family hears the enrollment status and the assigned teacher.
Where do lessons happen?
Over Zoom or Skype. In-person lessons are considered case by case. Hospital group sessions are held in person under the hospital’s health and safety rules.
Can my student take more than one kind of lesson?
Yes. Each student gets a fixed number of lessons for the calendar year, used at the pace the student and teacher agree on.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Lessons are free to the student and the family.
How can we help our student do well?
Support the gift. A quiet space for a virtual lesson and a family that shares in the progress is most of what a student needs.
